Bmore Music Picks is a weekly feature that highlights shows, concerts or events to check out in Baltimore (and the surrounding area). While it’s not a comprehensive events calendar, our picks are diverse and may highlight jazz, rock, folk, noise, punk, hip-hop, R&B, metal, experimental or just about any other sub-genre or style that helps make Baltimore’s music scene varied and vibrant.

For a more comprehensive events calendar, check out the Culture FlyShow Space, or Weekly.Citypaper.com.

Friday, January 30th – Sun Club / Sherman Whips / Little Leaguer / Slendermen
The Crown, 1910 N. Charles St. at 9:00 PM – $5

I’ve seen Sun Club a half a dozen times now and I’m impressed every time, mostly by their liveliness. Considering the elder statesmen of the band is barely drinking age, I guess their hyper-endurance should be fairly expected by as old heads. Either way, $5 to see one of Baltimore’s best, young bands is a STEAL.

Saturday, January 31st – Sweet Leda
Cat’s Eye Pub, 1730 Thames St. at 9:30 PM – $5

I first saw Sweet Leda while at Loyola University working for WLOY Radio. Their blend of blues and Americana roots rock is infectious as hell. They make for a perfect Saturday night show at one of Baltimore’s best bars, Cat’s Eye Pub.
