On Wednesday, more than a thousand of people gathered in Baltimore for a Student Protest to demonstrate that we can all #bmoreunited for change, to stand up for #justiceforfreddiegray, and to continue to honor the fact that #blacklivesmatter. There were ridiculous differences in the ways that police and military presence changed with this protest. This stark contrast was obviously due to the amount of privilege that our group of our protesters had. I could get in to deconstructing this irony, but it is obvious in the photos. There was no line of of police presence in riot gear, nor were there three army tanks.
However, our message was clear : we are all ready to stand together for a more equitable society.
