Furia Flamenca Dance Company will bring the ferocity and passion of flamenco to life through captivating dance, music, and song in a free one-night-only performance.
Featuring talented musicians and dancers in colorful costumes, Furia Flamenca is an award-winning dance company that specializes in emotionally explosive and dynamically choreographed performances that combine traditional flamenco from southern Spain with modern flamenco forms.
Since its founding in 2004, Furia Flamenca has performed at the Kennedy Center, Lincoln Theatre, National Theatre, Wolf Trap, and other prestigious venues and festivals. The group has won two Metro DC Dance awards and five finalist nominations.
Artistic Director Estela Velez de Paredez and Assistant Director Daniel Paredez will be joined by other dancers, guitarist Paul Villmoare, and singer Alma Rodriguez Cespede in this Takoma Park Arts performance. Go to furia-flamenca.com for more info.
The concert is free and no tickets or reservations are required. Donations will be accepted to support the group. Doors open at 7 pm, and seating is first come, first served. There is limited parking at the Takoma Park police station, Piney Branch Elementary School, and neighboring streets.
This event is part of the Takoma Park Arts series organized by the City of Takoma Park’s Arts and Humanities Division. The series includes free concerts, theater, dance, film screenings, and other events at the Takoma Park Community Center.
