Join us at Washington Studio School in our gallery on June 20th at 7pm for Film Night as we’ll be screening Black Art: In the Absence of Light, an HBO documentary that explores the rich history and contributions of Black American artists, inspired by David Driskell’s landmark 1976 exhibition Two Centuries of Black American Art. Through interviews with contemporary artists and curators, the film highlights the diversity, evolution, and impact of Black art in America—and the ongoing struggle for recognition within the mainstream art world.
