***Updated***BTST Services, along with Kid Balloon and other local artists, plan to unveil their Black Lives Matter Street Mural on East Fayette Street, next to Baltimore City’s City Hall. Art has always been a source of therapy and expression utilized by the mental health organization, which is located in the Station North District of the city, to treat their patients. The mural will be painted on Friday, August 21, 2020 from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm and unveiling on Saturday, August 22th at 10 am. The artists participating are Kid Balloon, Soley Supreme, Davon Carey, Dizzuane, and The Groovy Vandal.

“I’m excited about this project and how we are planning to create an opportunity for healing using art which serves as a tool and a means of expression. The goal of this project is to show our support and highlight the fact that Black Lives Matter, while to also celebrate the excellence and achievements of many trailblazers and pioneers in this fight”. Gathering this community of artists, African American small businesses, and mental health professionals, show the unity on social justice and change, and celebration of black excellence and prosperity. With high emotions running high from protests, social injustices, and a call for dismantling systematic racism, BTST Services wanted to create a safe, therapeutic space where those emotions can be expressed in a creative way. East Fayette Street, between Gay Street and Holliday Street, will be closed and residents are welcome to be onlookers of the momentous art installation and unveiling of the finished Black Lives Matter mural.
