Confidence Monster presents the works of visual artist Meaghan Toohey. In this exhibition, Toohey explores the contradictory relationship that the theme of confidence plays in the lives of many artists, finding footholds in the same capacity for questioning that also paralyzes her paintbrush. Toohey invites the viewer to question this universal relationship with confidence, fear, and anxiety through the work of the exhibition, and question its role in their own lives.

Meaghan Toohey is a Baltimore-based visual artist. Her material-conscious figurative works echo the classical aesthetic of joy in the beauty of the human form, yet remain unflinching before the confusing and even ugly cracks in the experience of human existence.
