A livelier life drawing event, Dr. Sketchy’s is where artists of all levels draw fabulous burlesque and variety performers. Enjoy delicious cocktails and compete in zany drawing contests to win free drinks and other awesome prizes! We’ll start off with quick 1- and 2-minute gesture poses and gradually move up to 20-minute sketches. No drawing experience is necessary; just bring your own drawing materials—plus generous cash tips for our model—and join us for some fun figure sketching practice!

For this session celebrating our 17th anniversary, we’ve invited a performer who may be new to our Sketchy’s artists but who we bet will be a new favorite: “The Glam Reaper”, London St. Juniper! And, in addition to having the multi-talented London pose and perform for us, we’ll also be giving away fantastic prizes from Baltimore’s Blick Art Materials!

“London St. Juniper is a burlesque and sideshow performer local to Baltimore, Annapolis, and Washington DC. She first took to the burlesque stage in 2017 with her Adam West Batman routine, and it was all rhinestones and rubber faces from there.

“When pressed, London describes her performance style as “Creepy Cheesecake”: retro high femininity (with modern values) playing tug-of-war with the macabre. Her acts run the gamut from classic glamor to showghoul, with some very strange pit stops along the way (Goatman, anyone?). It’s no surprise that her awards include “Miss DC PinUp 2017” and “Most Wicked” at the 2021 Great Burlesque Expo in Salem.

“London has performed across the US in cities from Denver to DC, Salem to Atlanta, entertaining audiences from intimate brunches to the huge crowds of DragonCon and Otakon. She has been a featured guest performer for Carnivale de Sensuale (Denver CO), and is the burlesque headliner at the Cabaret of Mysteries with Poe’s Magic Theatre (Baltimore). Experienced in nerdlesque, burlesque, glass walking, sword ladder, dance trapeze, and bed of nails, London’s first love is costuming, and her style is defined by elaborate costumes and unexpected reveals.

“In 2022 London founded Tippitywitchet Productions, a Maryland-based nonprofit production company dedicated to preserving the traditions of small stage entertainment, and educating audiences on the intersectional identities of performers. Based in Annapolis, Tippitywitchet produces burlesque and variety shows in the broader DMV. “
