On Thursday, June 19, the East Baltimore Historical Library is set to host its 2nd Annual Juneteenth Celebration at Eager Park, uplifting Black history, culture, and community joy in the heart of East Baltimore.
This vibrant, intergenerational event will include:
- Cultural storytelling featuring community leaders and healers
- Soul food and handmade goods from Black-owned local vendors
- Family-friendly activities such as pony rides and face painting
- Live entertainment celebrating the legacy and future of Black excellence
The East Baltimore Historical Library, a community-led institution launched in 2022, is working to preserve the voices and archives of East Baltimore while making history accessible, engaging, and celebratory for all. This year’s Juneteenth event is supported in part by the Baltimore Children & Youth Fund (BCYF), whose mission to uplift community-rooted organizations aligns deeply with the library’s work. Together, they’re helping ensure this celebration is a continuation of the movement to remember, reclaim, and reimagine what’s possible for Baltimore’s future.
