Elaine Fisher’s Repartea combines the spirit of ‘repartee’ (conversation or speech characterized by quick, witty comments or replies) and ‘tea’ (a term used to denote an evening meal in England) in a delightful dinner party installation of sculptural objects as place-settings for a sumptuous feast, cooked up from imaginative recombination of household recycling.
Artist statement:
“I find and collect objects, images and words from my immediate environment and make poetic relationships between them. Through sculptural, collage and woven assemblages I come to understand the ways in which the world is physically and perceptively constructed and how its various parts collaborate together.”
