Soprano Mandy Brown and pianist Tatiana Loisha will open the 2024/25 In the Stacks Concert Series with a captivating performance exploring the history of witchcraft and persecution of women labeled as witches.

Drawing inspiration from historic and rare books about witchcraft and herbalism from the George Peabody Library’s historic collection—on display for one night only—the program will trace the evolution of witch stereotypes and reconcile these inaccuracies with true stories of women who were often healers and sages.
