Join us as we launch our latest event series, Bookish Birthday Bash! Every month, join us for a special Mocktail Hour as we highlight the birth of some of our favorite literary giants. On August 2nd from 5:30-8pm, Brandon, kicks it off with James Baldwin!
If you’ve popped by the store, you might have had an interesting conversation with Brandon about the state of America. His personal outlook on the subject, in a bookish sense, began with this quote:

On this, what would be Baldwin’s 100th birthday, Brandon, alongside local theatre artists, pays homage as they present selected readings of his passages and engage in a dialogue driven, call to action. Also, as always, we will have deliciously crafted book-themed drinks, inspired by the birthday guy himself.
Run of the Program:
5:30-6pm: Mingle with other attendees during a mocktail hour
6-7:30pm: Passages of Baldwin’s work read aloud by local theatre artists, an engaging dialogue between Brandon Rashad Butts and a special guest.
7:45-8pm: Champange Toast
