The National Portrait Gallery is celebrating James Baldwin’s 100th birthday with poetry and prose inspired by our special exhibition “This Morning, This Evening, So Soon: James Baldwin and the Voices of Queer Resistance.” The slam will create community conversation around Baldwin’s writing and legacy. This event is held in collaboration with A Gathering of the Tribes, a platform for diverse, traditionally underrepresented artists and writers that amplifies the revolutionary voices of our time. Free – Registration Required.
