Art Show Aug 31-Sept 25 Joan Tarbell Plato

This 2022 show has paintings interwoven with the love of poetry expressing the theme “ A River Runs Through”. This series of work based on Ellicott City and the Tiber River is comprised of landscapes, interiors and still lifes, subtlety abstracted, showing the artist’s love of water, rocks and Maryland. She has lived in Ellicott City for more than 25 years. Her poetry, handmade books and art journal are also part of the show.

Joan will be in the Artists’ Gallery in Ellicott City on September 17, 2022 from 3-4pm for her presentation on the evolution of this art series and related poetry and handmade books. She is a creative water media artist who works on yupo, gessobord and canvas. Experimental art techniques will be presented.
