Join Lisa Scarbath, creator of diverse and meaningful mosaic art, as well as Resident Artist at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City, as she showcases her variety of artwork at the Lord Baltimore Hotel as part of its rotating Good Taste art exhibition. Scarbath was named the Lord Baltimore Hotel’s Couture Tree Competition winner for 2023.

On display will be an abundance of works utilizing a variety of different materials including stained glass, broken dishes, and marble, to name just a few. Each piece of tesserae is hand-cut and deliberately placed in the composition based on color, shape, and texture. Whether the resulting image is abstract or realistic, Scarbath provides the viewer with the opportunity to notice something new each time they view the mosaic. All pieces are available for purchase.

ABOUT THE ARTIST: Lisa M. Scarbath is a Resident Artist at the Howard County Center for the Arts in Ellicott City. She creates mosaic wall art, decor, installations, public and custom work using a variety of materials including smalti, stained glass, marble, slate, broken dishes and found objects. Lisa’s art is diverse, ranging from realistic to abstract, meaningful and thought-provoking to functional or just for fun. Lisa’s early work with stained glass started out as a hobby during her time as a mother, attorney, and professor but flourished after working on her art full time 5 years ago. Mostly self-taught, Lisa has also studied with Maestro Verdiano Marzi, the Chicago Mosaic School and other internationally respected mosaic artists. Lisa has received regional recognition and awards for her art which can be seen in stores and galleries from Frederick to Ocean City, MD.
