Monica Youn: Modern Lore
Monica Youn combines traditional mediums with organic material to create narratives related to identity, folklore, and her personal experiences as a first generation Korean American.  Youn researches the past to both explore her roots and discuss social norms and perception in a media centered world.  “Modern Lore” will display paintings and drawings with preserved flora, eggshells, and cicada wings, as well as figures depicting Korean traditions, customs, and myths.
