In this fun, collaborative class, students will experience the desirable qualities of Paper Clay as a finished object or substrate. The material is strong, light, drillable and paintable. Paper Clay is a versatile material that is ready for anything we might add to it.

Homework: Start looking at objects as possible models for molding. Looking at form, texture, scale and how you might alter object. Bring a couple/few objects. Part of class will be discussing which objects will work best and why.

Supply List:

Kit Fee payable to the teacher day of class. Kit Contents: Kit includes paper clay, modeling materials, hot plates to speed up drying, drills, pigments and findings.

Supplies Students Must Bring: A couple of objects that you would like to make a mold of, keeping in mind that we are working on a jewelry scale. Think surface, form and texture. Part of the class will be determining what works best and why. Bring an electric mug warmer if you have one.
