As we celebrate National Poetry Month, the Poetry Response Workshop & Album Listening Party will provide a platform for participants to explore the beauty and power of poetry. This workshop, in collaboration with the Chicory Revitalization Project, explores the revolutionary works of the historic Chicory magazine. Following the workshop attendees are welcome to join us for a listening party highlighting Gil Scott-Heron’s 1971 debut album, Pieces of a Man. Led by The Needle’s Eye Academy, this program will afford attendees an opportunity to pen prose inspired by Heron’s poetry and music.
