Opening on May 15 at the Yumi Hogan International Art Gallery at BWI Marshall Airport is the art showcase Reflections of Maryland: Art, People, and Place. This exhibition puts a spotlight on the work of Maryland-based African American artists who tell the story of the state’s vibrant fusion of cultural heritage and natural beauty.
Curated by the Banneker-Douglass-Tubman Museum—dedicated to preserving and amplifying the African American experience in Maryland—the exhibit includes significant works from the museum’s collection and contemporary pieces that highlight Maryland’s connection to African American culture throughout the years.
