Michael Seipp
Michael Seipp grew up in Baltimore’s Belair Edison neighborhood, where biking to his relatives’ seafood shop in Highlandtown introduced him to the city’s painted screens, each block like a gallery. Years later, City Folklorist Elaine Eff rekindled his interest in this unique Baltimore art. In 2014, Michael took a class with Master Screen Painter John Iampieri, sparking a passion for helping revive this tradition. Through the Painted Screen Society of Baltimore, he’s connected with and learned from fellow screen painters. Now, as a member of the Hamilton Arts Collective, Michael continues to paint screens in his spare time.
