Jo Fleming Contemporary Art presents our annual summer landscape show “Shoreline” from July 9th – August 31. The exhibition features expressive realism coastal landscape oil paintings by Geo McElroy representing unspoiled places on the eastern shore, including remarkable horizons, ocean and beach, inland waterways, coastal forest, and agricultural fields.
Also on exhibition are photorealistic oil paintings by Philadelphia Artist Brooke Lanier. Starting with collaged photos of lakes, docks and boats, these abstracted landscapes are vibrant and painterly compositions derived from her own history, incorporating a range of watery locations.
Eastern Shore artist Lesley Giles, paints bold and colorful solitary places and scattered coastal huts along the rural roads and shoreline with a hint of abstraction. These works are influenced by artists such as David Hockney.
