Traveling Postcards™ is pleased to announce the opening of “Speak Your Truth,” an impactful exhibit on display from October 4, 2024, to January 5, 2025, at the Joan Hisaoka Healing Arts Gallery at The Smith Center for Healing & the Arts. This exhibition aims to raise awareness and offer healing for survivors of gender-based violence, fostering a personal experience of empathy and empowerment through the healing arts.

“Speak Your Truth” invites visitors to engage with the often-hidden narratives of survivors, breaking the silence and resisting the shame associated with victimization. Through a powerful collection of over 5,000 unique Traveling Postcards™—handmade in hundreds of healing arts workshops over the past decade—this exhibit embodies the belief that survivors are seen, believed, and supported on their healing journeys.

Each postcard serves as a poignant reminder that healing is possible and that every survivor’s story matters. This exhibit seeks to transform the space of silence into one of visibility and strength, encouraging visitors to connect deeply with the resilience of survivors. Attendees will discover how small acts of compassion can lead to significant positive change, empowering them to take action towards justice and safety.

“By engaging with these stories and artworks, we hope to inspire empathy and encourage conversations that contribute to healing and justice,” said Caroline Lovell, Founder and CEO of Traveling Postcards. “It’s essential that we create an environment where survivors feel empowered to share their truths and know they are not alone.”

“Speak Your Truth” will be on display until January 5, 2025.
