Presented in Partnership with the Bowie State University Department of Fine and Performing Arts

Join us for a panel discussion as we revisit the 2020 critically acclaimed Banneker-Douglass Museum exhibit, The Black Vote Mural Project. During this panel discussion we will explore what was involved in the creation of the exhibit, current projects of some of the exhibit’s artists/curators, and how current social justice movements align with the 2020 art project.

Panelists include Gina Lewis, Professor and Program Coordinator of Art at Bowie State University, Tomora Wright, Curator of The Black Vote Mural Project, and Chanel Compton, Executive Director of the Banneker-Douglass Museum and the Maryland Commission on African American History and Culture. Artists from the project, Zsudayka Nzinga Terrell and Vinceaun Minto, will also be in attendance.
