On Earth Day’s 50th anniversary, Wednesday, April 22, 11am EST, Founder, Director, and Principal Curator of the American Visionary Art Museum (AVAM) Rebecca Hoffberger, gives a personal, virtual tour through our 25th original mega-exhibition, “The Secret Life of Earth.” Afterwards, she hosts a live chat Q&A with the audience. AVAM’s eco-exhibition stresses Earth’s inherent connectedness and interdependence, along with a plain-speaking insight into the fragility of our utter reliance on Nature and each other. “We earthlings have but one shared atmosphere and one interconnected ocean, despite the latter having five different names. So it is with humanity. There is no longer an illusion of ‘away’ or ‘over there.’ What happens that harms one group or even one individual, now can be seen to palpably impact others. We’re all in this life together, and we can help make that a most beautiful thing,” says Hoffberger in connecting the exhibition to this unprecedented time. AVAM’s “Secret Life of Earth” is one of the largest art/science earth-centric exhibitions anywhere, and has now been extended through January 2021.
