It is with great aplomb, pomp, and a good deal of circumstance that Trucker Talk, Baltimore’s favorite puppet show band, announce Dreams and Nightmares, a debut EP and the story of a single night’s sleep. The band will be celebrating with a release party, Friday, January 27th, 2023 at the Black Cherry Puppet Theater,  with a crankie premier in collaboration with Sam Grossman and performances by Lady Ro and Liz Downing with Hanna Olivegren.

Trucker Talk started as the house band for the episodic puppet show “The Motherload” and has gone on to score an international award-winning short film, The Elephant’s Song by Lynn Tomlinson. In addition to scoring dozens of puppet shows, the band premiered an original adaptation of Modest Mussorgsky’s Pictures at an Exhibition with Patrick McMinn and Sam Grossman has collaborated with Light City artists to produce large scale installations.
Loosely styled as an experimental chamber group or ‘chamber transport’ Trucker Talk is the product of four artists/friends celebrating as many birthdays as possible. Trucker Talk is Jessica Keyes (saxophone/flute/synth), Greg Bowen (drums/keys), Rich Kolm (bass/pedals) and Abby Becker (violin/vocal effects/vibraslap). The band’s debut album, Dreams and Nightmares, the story of a single night’s sleep, will be released Friday, Jan. 27, 2023 [applause].
