The Obsidian Contemporary Art & Design Group (OCAD) will host the Ujamaa: The Art of Tanzania exhibition at the Homme Gallery located at 2000 L St, NW, Washington DC, from October 31 to November 3rd, 2024.

This exhibit is the first of its kind in the United States to introduce works of art created by Innocent Malleey Mwaipungu, Sebastian Charles Mnjindo, and Brenda Kibakaya Nakisoko, three contemporary and talented artists from the country of Tanzania in East Africa.

The exhibit titled Ujamaa: The Art of Tanzania, represents the cooperative relationships with artists from Tanzania, a country that has over 100 ethnic and language groups and a country that is one of the oldest continuously human inhabited areas on earth. Ujamaa: The Art of Tanzania brings to life a visual sense of color, texture, and powerful imagery combine with the artistic diversity of each artist.

The Obsidian Contemporary Art and Design Group (OCAD) is a virtual/live exhibition gallery introducing and featuring a global community of talented artists to art enthusiasts and fine art collectors worldwide. OCAD’s virtual gallery (https://www.OCAD-Group.com) for the Ujamaa: The Art of Tanzania will open on November 1st and the live exhibition will open on October 31st.

Art enthusiasts and fine art collectors will gain access to our expanding community of American Artists of African Descent, as well as artist descended from other groups and cultures of the African Diaspora.
