This year is like no other, which calls for a winter production like nothing the Dance Department has attempted before. In considering how to provide opportunities for our students, we knew we would have to look beyond our comfort zone, reimagining the concept of performance, and opening ourselves to a more intimate form of expression. With the realization that our students need an outlet to process and articulate all that they are experiencing, we invited four exciting guest choreographers to create works in collaboration with our dancers and students from BSA’s very own Film and Visual Storytelling Department. Our guests, Maleek Washington, Janice Rosario, Kameron Saunders, and BSA alum Da’Shown Rawl (’14), embraced this challenge, creating compelling works that explore navigating the chaos of these times, the value of education, forging new identities, and discovering the superhero within.

You can access more information on the pieces and choreographers at: www.bsfa.org/streaming.
