At the intersection of art and science lies Voyages, an original immersive event series at the National Aquarium that inspires connection to nature and celebrates all things Baltimore. Join us for Voyages: Chapter 7 and explore Aquarium exhibits through immersive performance inspired by animal perception and sensory ecology from the minds of local collaborative artworks company Submersive Productions.

Inspired by months of research within the Aquarium and expertise provided by The Johnsen Lab of Sensory Biology at Duke University, Submersive Productions created “Submerged! In the Company of Fish.” This interactive theatrical experience invites guests to perform at their comfort level for the residents of the Aquarium and learn about animal perception. As you experience the Aquarium in a totally new way, this experience will inspire you to see the world from a new point of view. After exploring the exhibits, close out the night with your fellow voyagers at an Afrofuturistic after-party by Astronaut Symphony from Afro House.

Voyages: Chapter 7 promises to be a night of exploration that you won’t soon forget, featuring local food vendors Mera Kitchen Collective, Common Ground, Sistahs’ Sweets and Ekiben with a bar featuring Checkerspot Brewing Company and Baltimore Spirits Company.

This is where art and science meet. This is a one-of-a-kind celebration of all things Baltimore and the connection we share with the natural world. This is the Aquarium like you’ve never experienced it before. This is Voyages. Are you ready to embark on a journey into the deep?
