From jazz to country western, salsa to rock-and-roll, and hip hop to opera, American music is complex, creative and innovative. The rich and exciting lives of composers and musicians in the National Portrait Gallery’s collection will be our inspiration for this creative writing workshop. We will use guided writing prompts to develop new writing that pays homage to legends of American music. Open to writers of all levels and genres, ages 18+.
