Join Tephra ICA every third Thursday of the month for Art After Hours! Stop by the gallery between 5:30pm-7:30pm to enjoy hors d’oeuvres from Pisco y Nazca, drinks, music, contemporary art, and conversation. Free and open to the public.
On Thursday, April 18th, Art After Hours will feature a Creative Response and large scale floral installation at 6pm by Kehmari Norman, the founder of BLK FLWR MRKT.
Meet the Guest Speaker:
Kehmari Norman is a DC-born florist and environmentalist, and the founder of BLK FLWR MRKT. BLK FLWR MRKT is a multifaceted floral design brand that bridges diverse cultures with floriculture. Using flowers as a medium and language, they tell stories that aim to authentically represent and empower our communities through intentional products, installations, and sensory-exploratory experiences.
Norman received her B.A. at Temple University in Theater Set Design and African American Studies and transferred those skills initially as a landscape designer, transforming a vacant lot in a food insecure neighborhood in North Philadelphia, into a community garden, and now floristry.
