Each session offers tangible tools, prompts, and conversations to build the resources you need to make your art and make your life. All of this work is grounded in your practice and your intentions.

You can take all three sessions—I recommend it because the conversations do overlap—or just one or two. The workshops are free, but enrollment is limited.

Grant Writing for Artists
Thursday April 13, 6:00-9:00 pm

Simple tools and principles from an artist who writes grants
I didn’t sign up to be a grant writer. I wanted to be a choreographer. I discovered that, to make my work, I needed to find support. So I embarked on a painful learning process of trial and error, making every possible grant writing mistake. Eventually, I secured grants from funders like Creative Capital, The Pew Charitable Trusts, and The Rockefeller Foundation.
I want to share with you everything I’ve learned. Based on 30 years of grant writing and art making, I will introduce artists to principles for writing simple, clear grants. No bull, just real-world tools for being an artist who writes grants.
As part of this workshop, we will all act as a “fake grant panel,” reading, scoring, and discussing actual artist grants.
