Hosted by Baltimore-based photographer Meaza Getachew, Baltimore PhotoWalk is a monthly event that invites photographers to explore Baltimore City through camera lenses. ALL LEVELS ARE WELCOME! Bring your phone, polaroid, disposable, digital, or film camera, and take a tour inside the industrial space of AREA 405.

ABOUT

After a short closure, Baltimore’s beloved artist hub, AREA 405 (405 E. Oliver St.), will re-open to the public with a new art exhibition in its first-floor gallery: Theresa Robertson: AREA 405 Portrait Project. In addition to the exhibition’s opening reception on April 5 from 5 – 8 p.m., organizers will host a variety of robust programs and events, such as the Tea Time Artist Talk, Baltimore PhotoWalk led by Baltimore-based photographer Meaze Getachew, and an Ice Cream Social with AREA 405 Building artists.

AREA 405 Portrait Project by Theresa Robertson exhibits portraits of artists in the studios of AREA 405, documenting the flux of “artistic practice, sites, and modes of production and expression” (extract from “The Art Studio as Archive” by Jenny Sjöholm) of the Baltimore artist community. It celebrates the fluid identity of AREA 405 through the lens of artists and their studios.
