Please join us at NomüNomü this Sunday, April 21st, 2pm – 6pm for the opening of Etheric Bodies, Portraits of the Sacred Self, a solo exhibition of new works by Mahari Chabwera.

Art historian and curator of the exhibition Angela N. Carroll notes, “Chabwera has been dreaming about the possibility of personifying energy through the Eastern concept of embodied energy, chakras, for over five years. Etheric Bodies: Portraits of the Sacred Self is the culmination of her journey to date and represents a powerful series from a promising artist.”

The opening event will include free workshops in sound healing, yoga, meditation, and movement provided by Shawana Ward and a live musical performance by The Emperor King Bishop. Limited edition catalogs, featuring a critical essay from art historian Rashieda Witter, will be available for purchase on-site at NomüNomü.

Free healing workshops will continue to be offered every weekend for the duration of the exhibition, until May 11th. We are forever grateful to Naadiya Hutchinson, Shawana Ward, Kassamira Carter-Howard, and Sanchel Brown for the loving services they are offering to our community.
