As an artist or creative small business person, there are a bunch of ways that you can think about legal liability: Are you personally liable for things that happen related to your arts practice or do you have a business entity set up to limit liability? Do you have a verbal or written agreement that might speak to potential contract liability? Do you have all the copyright and trademark permissions you need to avoid infringement liability, or do you think someone else might be infringing your work? During this workshop, Maryland Volunteer Lawyers for the Arts will discuss business entities from LLCs to sole proprietorships, contracts, and intellectual property, so that you have a better understanding of how to protect your business from inside to out.
