The Maryland Institute College of Art (MICA) presents “NOSEDIVE,” a Multi Media Event debut of the work of 12 MICA students in the Fiber Department’s yearlong Multi Media Event I and II course. The annual showcase of student-designed fashions and performance takes place at 8 p.m. Friday, April 26 and 6 p.m. Saturday, April 27 in BBOX, 1601 W. Mount Royal Ave. Tickets ($15) are available online through the MICA Store until April 26, after which they will be sold at the door until sold out.
The work presented in “NOSEDIVE” was developed by 12 MICA undergraduate students whose majors include Fiber, General Fine Arts, and Interdisciplinary Sculpture. The show — which features an assemblage of narratives and performance — highlights the integration of old and new techniques as the 12 student designers define a distinct visual language “through which we speak to one another and tell our stories.”
