Ten Baltimore Art Exhibits in 2022 that Made us Reevaluate Our Priorities

Thank you to the museums, galleries, colleges, artist-run spaces, and universities consistently supply us with exhibitions that challenge our intellect, influence our emotions, and encourage us to participate in creative production.

The top ten contemporary art exhibitions from Baltimore (including two from DC) that have inspired, challenged, and sustained us in 2021

Even under the best circumstances, Baltimore can be a humbling place to live and work as an artist, but our sense of shared community purpose and creative potential keeps us going.

The five individual artists selected as this year’s finalists are Hoesy Corona, Tsedaye Makonnen, Jonathan Monaghan, Lavar Munroe, and Hae Won Sohn.

This year, the finalists’ work will be exhibited in person at the Walters Art Museum, on view Thursday, May 27, through Sunday, July 18, 2021.
