Ruth Pettus’ stark landscape paintings and misshapen sculptures of encrusted shoes cement the impression of an artist who is unafraid to prod the beach rubble. Here, she displays drawings from recent trips to Cyprus and Spain, small examples of pared down landscapes made from layers of oil pastel and mineral oil. She shares her technique with a hands-on artists’ workshop Sat Jan 19.
