Miami Art Fairs – ArtMiami

Flying in to Miami on Tuesday, Dec. 2 I can see it from the window of the plane. There’s Miami Beach off to the right and Miami proper on the left. Lots of old art deco high-rise buildings, lots of smalldogs, and a TON of art! I hope it is warm…

This is crossing over the bridge from Miami to South Beach …

And this is the view from our balcony… NICE! Miami is an expensive town, but the views are priceless.

After some r&r, it’s time to see some art. Or, attend some art parties, at least. First stop: Art Basel Preview Party at the Delano Hotel in South Beach. Zoe, Bernhardt, and I were welcomed by very tall gorgeous women all dressed in orange. Fancy! They matched the signature coctails.

Bernhardt and I with signature cocktails… and an odd lampshade. Not sure what was with that.

This is the Delano by day…

And then by night… The whole outdoor area, replete with poolside cabanas, each with their own couch/bed and flat screen tv, was filled with well dressed and important looking people. Artists? Collectors? They seemed vaguely familiar, and important. Or self important? Either way, I hope they are all buying lots of art this week! The economy needs it.

Zoe with some very fancy art fans… Eva and Adele don’t miss an art fair. Or party…

Zoe and Bernhardt looking happy. Signature cocktails anyone?
