Join us for this month’s Long Table where the theme is: Salt & Sweet Earth celebrating Women’s History Month.
This table is set in the spirit of Edna Lewis — in honor of the 50th anniversary of “The Taste of Country Cooking”, the book that taught us to listen to the land, to cook by the season, and to move without hurry.
But this table is also set for the Maryland women who raised us in quieter ways — in kitchens warm with steam, in gardens heavy with greens, on shorelines where salt lived in the air and work lived in the hands.
The matriarchs who did not write books, but wrote themselves into our cooking. Their hands guide the fire.
Their memory seasons the pot. And through us, they are still feeding people.
