Reception: Rooted & Rising: AAPI Stories through Visual Art in Celebration of Maryland 250

Join us for a special reception celebrating Rooted & Rising: AAPI Stories through Visual Art in Celebration of Maryland 250, featuring artwork by winners of the 2026 AAPI Art Competition. Enjoy an evening of visual storytelling that highlights heritage, identity, and community through the voices of AAPI artists across generations. Light refreshments will be provided as we gather to honor and celebrate these powerful works.

GOCI APAA Commission 2026 AAPI Competition: The Governor’s Asian Pacific American Affairs (APAA) Commission in partnership with Sandy Spring Museum is hosting its inaugural Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Art Competition celebrating the creativity and identity of Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) individual across Maryland. 

This event takes place at Willow Grove Cultural Commons. Willow Grove is part of the Sandy Spring Museum’s main building, but has its own entrance. From the parking lot, proceed past the museum’s front door down the cement walkway until you reach the red stone plaza.
