Art with a Heart To Unveil New Mosaic Mural at Mary E. Rodman Recreation Center
Art with a Heart, Baltimore City Recreation and Parks and AARP will unveil a mixed media mural at the newly renovated Mary E. Rodman Recreation Center, an intergenerational project that the “Rodman Royals” aging adult group and students from Edmondson High School co-created together with support from Art with a Heart. The organization received generous support from AARP through a Community Challenge grant to support a meaningful community art installation that provided the opportunity for young and old community members to connect, create and invest in their community together. Art with a Heart worked closely with Baltimore City Recreation & Parks, and community members to design a mural representative of the neighborhood’s history, legacy and future.
The AARP Community Challenge grant program is part of AARP’s nationwide Livable Communities initiative, which supports the efforts of cities, towns, neighborhoods and rural areas to become great places to live for people of all ages, with an emphasis on people ages 50 and older.
