Nettle Shirts Puppet Works & Sari Langholdt 

Nettle Shirts Puppet Works from Charlottesville, Virginia, will tour the Black Cherry on Thursday, July 2nd! Brave the warmth to see an evening of transformative existentialist wonder. An intimate suitcase show will be followed by two shadow puppetry shows.

In “The Lot”, a suitcase opens up into a small parking lot with scattered trash, and a small figure arrives to sweep it up. What will she sweep next? “Storm After Storm”, an experimental sand shadow piece, explores the emotional arc of a thunderstorm. AND Baltimore hometown puppeteer and burlesque performer Sari Langholdt will be on stage as well! Their performance journey began with clowning and has now expanded into puppetry, acroyoga, and their sexy alien drag persona, Galactic Gasm. Blending humor with both small- and large-scale puppetmaking, Sari’s work surprises audiences and challenges the relationships we have with our bodies.
