Black Writers Happy Hour is a community-centered gathering for Black writers, poets, storytellers, and literary creatives in Baltimore and neighboring areas to connect, create, and build meaningful relationships. Hosted by The Black Writers Collective, authors and MFA graduates Albert Phillips Jr. and Wallace Lane, the event blends networking, games, performances, and conversation in a welcoming space designed to celebrate Black storytelling and artistic expression. The event will also highlight the Baltimore Black Arts District and its ongoing contributions to the city’s cultural and creative landscape. Whether you’re an experienced writer, an emerging creative, or simply someone who loves literature, Black Writers Happy Hour offers an opportunity to find community, share ideas, and be inspired by the region’s vibrant literary scene.
