Carlos Raba was born and raised in Culiacán, Sinaloa, by his mother, four aunts, and his grandmother, who taught him traditional cooking and instilled in him a deep appreciation for Mexican food culture.
He is a black belt in Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and the co-owner and chef of Clavel. Carlos also founded Guardian Gym, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization offering Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and yoga classes. Children ages 6–17 train for free, receiving mentorship, community support, and a safe place to grow both on and off the mats.
