Backstrap Loom Weaving (2-day workshop)

Blue Light Junction welcomes artist and friend Hellen Ascoli to their programming with a 2-day weaving workshop.

This backstrap loom workshop offers students an accessible introduction to weaving.
Over two 6-hour workshop days, students will focus on developing confidence with the tension, posture, and rhythm that are unique to backstrap weaving.

Participants will also learn and experiment with traditional pick-up pattern techniques using supplementary weft (brocade).

By the end of the workshop, each student will leave with a woven sample cloth and a strong foundation for continuing their exploration of backstrap weaving.
