Resident Artist Talk – Youzhi Bi

Baltimore Jewelry Center
10 East North Avenue, Suite 130
Baltimore, MD 21202

Join Us at 7pm Eastern on Tuesday, October 27 for an artist talk by current one-month resident Youzhi Bi!

Youzhi Bi (b. 1995, China) is a jewelry artist and curator whose practice explores material, process, and transformation through jewelry. Her practice examines how material behaviour, making processes, and wear shape the meaning and experience of jewelry. Through drawing, material experimentation, and transformation, she explores the physical and emotional relationships that emerge between materials, objects, and the body. Youzhi’s work has been exhibited internationally across Europe, China, and the United States. She is also the founder of B-Design Hub, an independent exhibition space in Shenzhen dedicated to contemporary jewellery and object-based practices.

During her time in the studio with us, Youzhi has been experimenting with color on metal in combination with carved jade. Join us in the studio or on Zoom to hear about her practice and what she’s been up to this past month.
