From the creator of the award-winning shows Tings Dey Happen and The Real Americans comes Each and Every Thing: a new piece of journalistic theater about finding connection in our digital age. From the hardscrabble corner boys of Chicago to the intellectual temple of Calcutta’s famed Coffeehouse, from a Digital Detox retreat in remote Northern California to an intimate confession in Midtown Manhattan, Each and Every Thing brings a comic and riveting story to vivid life on stage.
Sunday’s Play Lab matinee will feature the very first draft of Hoyle’s newest solo project, employing his signature style to a host of indelible characters who challenge us with questions about how we negotiate borders every day, from the international to the deeply personal.

Building Bridges: The Politics of Love, Identity and Race :: Reception + Talk

Galerie Myrtis located at 2224 North Charles Street presents Building Bridges: The Politics of Love, Identity and Race curated by Myrtis Bedolla and Ana Joa. Opening Reception: Saturday, May 13, 2017 – Time: 3:00 – 6:00 PM. An Artists’ Talk will take place the day of the opening, Saturday, May 13th and will be held from 5:00 – 6:00 PM. Free and open to the public.
The exhibition presented at Galerie Myrtis, Building Bridges: The Politics of Love, Identity and Race features works by American and Cuban artists who unite to investigate the politicization of love, identity and race. Artists of multi‐racial and multi‐cultural backgrounds explore the notion of love—as power and play; offer conceptual and formal dialogue on identity; and examine race as a mechanism to unify or divide a nation and its people.
The exhibit builds upon the new relationship charted by America and Cuba. Participating in the exhibit are preeminent Cuban artists: Julia Valdés Borreno, Zaida del Rio, Alicia Leal Veloz and Eduardo Roca (Choco) Salazar who will be visiting from Havana and available for interviews from May 12th – May 19th.

WTMD Presents: Baltimore Band Block Party

Fifteen bands are competing by raising money for WTMD. The top 10 bands will perform live at the WTMD studios on Saturday, May 13th.
Tickets are $20 each or $60 for a VIP ticket which includes food and drinks, VIP lounge and commemorative poster. You’ll get to see ten great Baltimore bands in one night!
The more money your favorite band raises the closer they’ll be to playing First Thursdays so support them now!

There are prizes for the top bands, including a Merit Award made possible by The William G. Baker, Jr. Memorial Fund.
