The Potent Object at Baltimore Clayworks
Opens August 17 and runs through September 28, 2013

The Potent Object
Richard Cleaver, Juror
Opening Reception: August 17, 2013, 6-8 pm
August 17- September 28, 2013

This exhibition showcases the power of small-scale sculptural works. Highlighting artworks no larger than 12 inches, but that possess a much larger presence. Composed mainly of ceramic, with some mixed media additions, these objects prove that something doesn’t have to be huge to be monumental.

Congratulations to the Potent Object artists chosen by Richard Cleaver! It was an expansive and intriguing field of choices. It was encouraging to see many familiar artists in the mix and be introduced to folks new to Baltimore Clayworks.

Selected artists: Coreena Affleck (DE), Nikki Renee Anderson (IL), Ariana Kolins (NY), Josephine Burr (MA), Jill Birschbuch (IL), Mary K. Cloonan (MD), Robin Caster (NY), Ray Chen (IN), Chandra Glendinning (TX), Staton Davis (OH), Keith Ekstam (MO), Barbara Frey (TX), Cathy Feiss (CA), Dennise Gackstetter (UT), Steven Gorman (MO), Jessica Smith (AL), L.
