Bmore Music Picks is a weekly feature that highlights shows, concerts or events to check out in Baltimore and the surrounding area. While it’s not a comprehensive events calendar, our picks are diverse and may highlight jazz, rock, folk, noise, punk, hip-hop, R&B, metal, experimental or just about any other sub-genre or style that helps make Baltimore’s music scene varied and vibrant.

For a more comprehensive events calendar, check out the Culture FlyShow Space, or Weekly.Citypaper.com.

Wednesday, February 4th – Alex G / Teen Suicide / Us and Us Only / Baklavaa
Metro Gallery, 1800 N. Charles St. 8:00 PM – $10

Alex G has become a sensation amongst certain music circles. RollingStone even called him, “a bright new talent” in their review of 2014’s DSU. Teen Suicide have a big following in their own right and Us and Us Only are a frequent front pager here at BmoreArt because yours truly is quite fond of them. This might be sold out as you’re reading this — as of yesterday there were less than 50 tickets left. Get them while they’re hot!

Friday, February 6th – War on Women LP Release Show
Metro Gallery, 1800 N. Charles St. 8:00 PM – $10

I apologize for picking two shows from the same venue in the same week but you cannot sleep on War on Women and their new album. The night ends with a queer friendly dance party and several local nonprofits including the Force: Upsetting Rape Culture and Hollaback Bmore will have information tables set up at the show. Be informed and enjoy killer punk rock while you’re at it.

More info here.
