TWO DAYS | Opening Reception // In Conjunction with Bromo Art Walk
Thursday, May 14 :: 5-9pm
@ Maryland Art Place
TWO DAYS is an exhibition conceived around two cities, Baltimore and New York. In 1901, the Baltimore Orioles were sold to New York and became the New York Highlanders. In 1913 they were renamed the Yankees. The two cities are linked together through America’s favorite pastime. TWO DAYS celebrates the East Coast and the ever-evolving relationship between Baltimore and New York.
The artists included have substantial relationships with both Baltimore and New York. The relationships include place of residence (past or present), family, education, teaching and exhibiting. The artists were selected on the uniqueness of their work and their respect for materiality and visual language. All share an interest in poetics driven by physical adventure and structural understanding. There may be similarities in some of the works but the show was not conceived with a particular aesthetic or common idea. The intention is to introduce artists with individual vision currently working in two nearby cities. Rather than being on two separate teams (Orioles and Yankees), the artists are on one team, bound by purpose and place.
The exhibition is curated by the artists Jim Condron and Glenn Goldberg. Jim lives and works in Baltimore and New York and Glenn is a lifelong New Yorker. Both have exhibited and taught in the Baltimore and New York areas.
Exhibiting Artists:
Eric Banks, Catherine Behrent, Bettina Blohm, Ben Browne, Guy Corriero, Brad Ewing, Jonathan Genkin, Michelle La Perriere, Sangram Majumdar, Isabelle F McTwigan,Nicholas Moenich, Cara Ober, Cordy Ryman, Jo Smail, Christine Stiver, Dominic Terlizzi, Ken Tisa, Rosa Valado, and Tommy White.
Please join us for the opening reception of TWO DAYS on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 5 to 9 pm in conjunction with BROMO Art Walk. Additional programming will be announced.

Bradley Milligan and Nicholas Wisniewski: Shoring | Opening Reception
Thursday, May 14 :: 5-9pm
@ Red Giant
‘Shoring’ presents new work by Bradley Milligan and Nicholas Wisniewski. The title invokes the act of propping up a weakening structure, the accumulation of geological strata, and the constantly shifting zone where land meets water. Wisniewski carves images of local architecture into chunks of drywall excavated from abandoned row houses, working at the intersection of art and urban development in Baltimore. Milligan layers plaster, gesso, and wood, materials used for their strength, to underline an ethics of care and maintenance. Taken together, their works propose that the impulse to fix, to preserve, to hold something together even imperfectly, is not a consolation for a broken world but evidence that people keep imagining a better one.
‘Shoring’ is on view May 14–June 27, 2026. An opening reception will be held during the Bromo Art Walk on Thursday, May 14, 5–9pm. A closing reception will be held on Saturday, June 27, 6–8pm. All events are at Red Giant, 403 N. Paca St., Baltimore, MD 21211. To make an appointment, DM @redgiantgallery on Instagram, email [email protected], or call (410) 989-1430.

When The Butterflies Would Visit | Opening Reception
Friday, May 15 :: 6-9pm
@ Creative Alliance
May 15 – June 13, 2026
Opening Reception: May 15, 6-9PM
Designed to empower the next generation of ecological researchers, this project seeks to nurture structural change. WHEN THE BUTTERFLIES WOULD VISIT brings together artists/activists/scientists around the environmental struggle in Guna Yala territory of Panama.
The excrement of fossil fuels and capitalism has washed up onto the shores and inside the bodies of the Indigenous Guna. In the summer 2022, on the ecological indigenous artist residency, we seeded this project to share knowledge and build new ways of working—ecological reciprocity.
Reciprocity, something western culture desperately needs to work on, is the social psychological practice of ecology. If we as westerners can shift from capitalistic colonial systems to indigenous practices of living in relationship to the living beings around us, humanity has hope. However, this knowledge is getting harder to keep and pass down—as western culture’s plastic/oil-addictions infiltrate and seep into these communities.
We are in partnership with Yar Burba, an indigenous ecological research center run by Favio and Desy Arosemena. In the words of founder/director Favio, “Yar Burba signifies the Guna people’s spiritual connection with nature. It is an expression of how we understand the world: humans, the jungle, the sea, animals, and spirits form a unity. Everything is alive, everything has energy.”

OPEN CALL: The Midnight Garden — NYC Pop-Up Exhibition Curated by Jessica Libor
deadline May 31
posted by Visionary Art Collective
The Midnight Garden centers on ideas of cultivation, transformation, and unseen processes of growth, both in nature and within ourselves. Framed as a space of quiet unfolding, the garden becomes a metaphor for creative practice and emotional life, where cycles of blooming, decay, and renewal coexist, and where beauty and tension sit side by side. The exhibition also explores the duality between control and wildness, a garden as both designed and unpredictable, shaped yet ever-changing. Through a range of approaches including abstraction, realism, and experimental forms, artists may reflect on structure, intuition, and the act of tending to what emerges. We’re seeking a selection of work that speaks to or challenges these ideas, interpreted through each artist’s lens.
The Midnight Garden will be presented as a pop-up exhibition in Brooklyn on August 20, 2026 and will be on view through August 23, 2026 at a ground-level gallery space located at 61 Atlantic Ave. Programming will take place throughout the exhibition. A selection of artists will also be featured in New Visionary Magazine, and all works will be available on Artsy through our gallery, Warnes Contemporary. A virtual exhibition component will also be presented on our website and remain on view for 4–6 weeks.
This exhibition will be curated by Jessica Libor, a Philadelphia-based visual artist, curator, and founder and director of Era Contemporary. Libor’s work explores feminine identity, storytelling, and personal mythology through richly imagined figurative paintings. Through Era Contemporary, Libor has curated a wide range of exhibitions, supporting artists working in imaginative and contemporary realism while fostering meaningful opportunities for visibility and connection. She holds an MFA from the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and has exhibited internationally, with her work included in museum exhibitions and private collections worldwide.
