The Great Halloween Lantern Parade and Festival, produced by The Creative Alliance and the Friends of Patterson Park and Southeast CDC, is truly one of Baltimore’s most special events. This year it was directed by Laure Drogoul and the theme was COSMIC PARK, “a celebration of the universe, including the heavens, the stars, and all celestial bodies in our very own Patterson Park.”

The day included a free festival, hay rides, lantern workshops, costume contest, and The Gathering of food trucks. The shimmering spectacle included glowing floats on the park’s Boat Lake, video projections on the DiPietro Ice Rink, the pavilion and behind Pulaski Monument, artist installations and performances by 901 Arts Drum Corps, Barrage Band, and stilt walkers in the Parade Route. The Parade included families, friends, and neighbors who dressed in costume and made lanterns from repurposed plastic bottles.
